Woman-Owned Business Certification Program

The State of Wisconsin is committed to providing woman-owned businesses with a credible certification that validates their business ownership. The program is part of the Office of the Women's Business Ombudsman, Wisconsin Supplier Diversity Program, Wisconsin Department of Administration.
For purposes of State of Wisconsin contracting, women are not considered minorities. Minority Business Enterprise Certification is based on ethnicity criteria.
Woman's Business Enterprise (WBE) certification requires that the business is, at a minimum, 51% owned, managed and controlled by a woman or women applicant(s). An applicant will be required to provide a copy of business tax returns along with other proprietary documentation to support their application.
