Why Get Certified?

Certification is a way to promote your company to corporations and government agencies that are actively seeking to conduct business with women-owned businesses.

Certification confirms that the business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by women. Women-owned businesses undergo a formal documentation and site visit process, administered by the DOA Supplier Diversity Program (linked above), which enables them to compete for business opportunities with corporations and government agencies.

Firms certified through the Wisconsin Supplier Diversity program can receive technical and marketing assistance, including participation in Marketplace, a statewide business marketing conference. Certified firms are also eligible to be listed in the State of Wisconsin's Directory of Minority, Women, and Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses, which is distributed to corporate buyers and purchasing agents throughout the state.
